Reliable Led Obstruction Lights Really Are A Non Negotiable Matter

By Enid Hinton

Safety in the aeronautics industry is paramount. LED obstruction lights or aircraft warning lights are of a high strength lighting device that are normally seen on tall buildings and structures. These are used as a collision evading measure as they are very noticeable to any aircraft flying during the night. Many of them are normally left on during the day as well. They are all very bright as they need to be seen from great distances.

There are two different types of lamps either the red or the white. The red ones are usually left on or in some instances will turn on and off every few seconds. The white ones are xenon discharge flashers and the current densities are very high. The colour temperature can reach 9800 kelvins which is a white with a subtle shade of sky blue. These are also very popular with photographers even if they tend to be rather high in price.

For all telecom devices there are certain regulations that need to be adhered to. If the tower is below 45 metres two low intensity strobes are needed and must work simultaneously at the highest point. For a forty five to a one of five metre high either one or two strobes need to be seen at the top while another two or three will need to be attached at an intermediate level. Anything that is higher will need to have two medium intensities at the top as well as at each intermediate level thereafter.

Many companies that supply these beacons offer training and are conducted by technical specialists. They will ensure that guidance is given on medium and high intensity as well as airport lighting. All of the medium intensity classes as well as the high will be done at the Flash Technology offices.

Many of these are now being replaced by high power red LEDs as they seem to have a much longer lifespan which in turn lowers the maintenance costs. Some manufacturers have also managed to develop medium intensity white strobes also based on this technology in a way to replace xenon lights. They may be more impressive but in the long run need to be replaced fairly often.

They have a very wide range of all single obstruction lights as well as double for either day or night use. These come with both red and white and have a 100 000 hour lamp life. Their control boards have multi functions and can be installed either indoors or outside depending on their intended use. They are all made from stainless steel and their protection ranges from IP55 to IP66.

For those that use the high intensity strobes the buildings or structures need to exceed 500 feet and are more noticeable during the day and night. Many of today's buildings have antennas, if they are higher than forty feet a medium intensity strobe light is to be placed above this point. They will flash up to forty times every minute.

LED lights are also used on the aircraft itself. A red light can be seen on the left wing and a green on the right. This is to signal any other aircraft in the vicinity that they are not alone and also as a guide as to which direction the other aeroplane is travelling in.

There are various limitations possible that is why one must be fully knowledgeable about it. The technology is still more preferable compared to other types when it is about quality lighting. Using it can also aid you in many ways indeed. Know everything regarding the technology and everything will just go smootly.
